Cocktails, Anyone? 5 Favorite Bars

Dirty Blonde

1920s-style speakeasy

Dirty Blonde is an out-in-the-open speakeasy in the center of the city. Longtime expats will  remember that the Coyote Ugly was once here. The old-time whiskey sour is great.

Lumberjack

Cocktails without attitude

For a place that was practically invented on the back of the "lumbersexual" trend, Lumberjack is surprisingly unpretentious: cocktails are inventive but not silly, prices are high but not ridiculous. Try the "Dreamers" cocktail, inspired by Bernardo Bertolucci.

Noor Electro

Art Deco cocktails

Strelka

Since reopening as Noor Electro in February, this beautifully decorated cocktail bar has also started hosting breakfasts, art shows and bands. Current fave: hot buttered rum.

White Rabbit

Elegant setting for delicious drinks

Sitting under a glass dome at the top of a shopping plaza, White Rabbit is Moscow's one and only eatery on the World's Best Restaurants 2015 list. Stop in for a girlfriend celebration, a date night, or a parental visit and relax on banquettes with plushy pillows. Creative cocktails and old favorites. The "Scarlett O'Hara" is our current obsession.

Strelka

A bar with a view

Known for its huge, beautiful summertime open-air terrace, Strelka can be just as nice in the winter in its cozy main bar. It's like having fancy cocktails in Don Draper's apartment, circa 1966. The "Vanilla Smash," mojito-style with mint leaves and vanilla vodka, is great.
