President Vladimir Putin delivered his annual address to Russian lawmakers on Thursday, spending much of his nearly two-hour long speech talking about Russia's military capabilities and threats of nuclear retaliation against the West.
Complete with videos and outdated graphics, Putin's presentation sparked irony and indignation among Russian social media users.
"For those too lazy to read, a summary of Putin's address in one picture. Russia 2024"
"Putin's address to the Federal Assembly is on. Rockets are flying towards America on the big screen. Rousing ovations. North Korea is already here..."
"Now, that's even better."
"What say you now, Elon Musk?"
"Two ways of going to space."
@didme highlighted Putin's campaign promises:
"Sarmat [ICBM], nuclear engines, underwater drones, Kinzhal [hypersonic missile], Avangard, Battle laser complexes, reduce the poverty level in half in 6 years and finally finish building the road to Saratov."
