A car bomb that killed two people and injured three near a traffic police post in Dagestan's Derbent region may have been planted by a suicide bomber, the Interfax news agency reported Monday.
The blast was of immense force and according to preliminary reports, the bomb may have been caused by a suicide bomber, the agency reported.
Earlier, an unidentified law enforcement source told Interfax that police stopped a Lada Priora for a routine document check when a powerful blast blew the car apart.
The press office of the local Interior Ministry told Interfax that the explosion may have been caused by a gas canister in the car.
