Pussy Riot members Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina have been attacked by five young men at a McDonald's in Nizhny Novgorod on Thursday.
The unknown attackers threw metal objects at the women as they were eating, leaving Alyokhina with "a cut to her forehead," their lawyer said, Interfax reported.
Furthermore, Tolokonnikova and Alyokhina sustained injuries to their eyes after an unidentified liquid was thrown in their faces.
Video footage of the attack posted on YouTube shows the young men scuffling with the Pussy Riot members and hurling profane insults at them. A voice can be held in the background pleading for a McDonald's security guard to intervene.
McDonald's had no immediate public comment on the incident.
The women were filing reports with the police, their lawyer said.
This is not the first time that the women have been attacked following their January release from prison, where they had been serving two-year sentences for performing an anti-Putin song in Moscow's Christ the Saviour Cathedral.
Tolokonnikova and Alyokhina were whipped by Cossack militiamen as they tried to perform a protest song in Sochi during the 2014 Winter Olympics
