Almaz-Antey plans to build two new production plants in the next two years worth more than $1 billion, Yury Borisov, first deputy chairman of the government defense industry commission, said Friday, Interfax reported.

"The total value of the two new plants is more than $1 billion," Borisov said at a meeting on problems in the defense sector at Almaz-Antey's headquarters.

Scale replicas of the two new plants, which will be located in the Kirov and Nizhny Novgorod regions, were presented to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin. They will engage in batch production of the latest air defense missile systems and components.
