Small Truck Growth

Total light commercial vehicles in Russia will increase by 18.7 percent to 4.04 million vehicles by 2015 compared with 2009, the Avtostat analytical agency said Thursday.

“We expect the fleet to increase by 2.3 percent to 4.2 percent a year over the next five years and come to around 4.04 million units by 2015. At the same time, the fleet of domestically built vehicles will yield to the rate of foreign model growth,” said Sergei Udalov, the agency’s executive director. Foreign models will account for three-fourths of the increase in LCVs by 2015, including those made domestically.
