New Car or One Year’s Rent

Annual rent for the average one-room apartment is about equal to the price for a new Russian car, according to a survey by Inkom-Nedvizhimost.

The average yield on apartment rentals is 6.7 percent annually, according to retailers’ estimates.

“Taking into account the current inflation, the yearly earnings for apartment lessors stands at 335,000 rubles [$11,000]. This is enough to buy a new automobile,” Inkom said in a report, RIA-Novosti reported.
