He said Wednesday that rumors that materials from nuclear weapons the country had dismantled were being smuggled were "not true."
"We are doing our best to control the proliferation of nuclear materials," he told a news conference.
He said Kazakhstan had got rid of all its nuclear weapons and exploded its last silo structure in September. "Now de facto Kazakhstan is a non-nuclear state," he said.
