Police said Monday that Toney's mother called them Sunday night after Toney knocked over some furniture, said he was going to kill his manager and left with a gun.
Police did not catch up to Toney until Monday, when detectives interviewed him at his Ann Arbor home.
No formal complaint was filed.
"He said he had said some things, he was distraught and would just rather let it go,'' police chief Ron Cronin said. "At this point the case is closed.''
Toney lost a unanimous decision Friday in Las Vegas to Roy Jones Jr., along with his IBF super middleweight title. He said in a radio interview Monday he was recovering from the flu and that his manager, Jackie Kallen, had pressured him to fight before he was ready. Toney said he has fired Kallen.
