U.S. Senator Herb Kohl, who owns the team, answered with a flat "No" when asked that question Tuesday.
"I was thinking of saying to Mr. Robinson, 'I'll tell you what. I'll take your contract and you can have my franchise,'" Kohl said during a news conference.
Robinson, who led the United States in scoring last season with Purdue University, has been a no-show at the Bucks' training camp, which began Friday. Contract negotiations remained at an impasse Tuesday with no end in sight.
The Bucks reportedly have offered a nine-year contract, worth about $59 million, a guaranteed figure that the team contends generously exceeds this year's market value. Various reports have said Robinson is seeking a 13- to 15-year deal topping $100 million.
