Russian Artist Gives Ukraine Front-Runner a Sweet Makeover

Fifteen kilograms of gummy bears, candies, licorice and marmalade were enough for a Russian artist to express her preferences in Ukraine's presidential election.

Yulia Gavrilova spent a month making a portrait of presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelenskiy and unveiled her work at the Sweet Museum in St. Petersburg on Thursday.

To make her political statement, Gavrilova used sweets produced by Roshen confectionary firm which belongs to incumbent Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

Poroshenko, who is also a candidate in the upcoming presidential run-off, has earlier faced criticism for failing to sell Roshen despite his promises to do so.

Comic actor Volodymyr Zelenskiy is likely to win Ukraine's presidential election, according to an opinion poll published on Tuesday.

Poroshenko and Zelenskiy will meet in the second round of Ukraine's presidential election on April 21.
