Igor Gerber

International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has appointed Igor Gerber as its new Moscow office managing partner. The appointment, effective from the 1st May, will run for a three year term. Igor succeeds Mikhail Loktionov, who has served two terms in the role. Mikhail will remain with the firm as the head of the Russian finance and capital markets practice.

Commenting on his appointment Igor said, ‘I am delighted to take on the role of office managing partner. With over twenty years presence in the city our Moscow office has exceptional understanding and knowledge of the Russian market and a solid client base of both domestic and international firms across a broad strata of industry.

Alexey Yadykin

Further underlining the firm’s commitment to Moscow, Freshfields recently announced the promotion of Moscow-based finance lawyer Anna Nersesian to partner in the firm’s Russian finance practice and the hiring of two new senior dispute resolution lawyers, Alexey Yadykin and Fedor Belykh, to further strengthen the Freshfields’ Russian litigation and arbitration practice.

PROFILES

Igor Gerber’s main practice area is corporate law, including M&A and joint ventures (JVs). He represents clients in a range of industry sectors, including retail, transport and infrastructure, telecommunications and media, energy and natural resources.

Fedor Belykh

Igor has been a partner since 2008. He is a graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) international law department and holds a Master of Laws from the Goethe Universität, Frankfurt am Main.

Anna Nersesian’s practice covers structured finance, derivatives, project finance and banking.

Anna also has extensive experience in trade finance, syndicated finance and pre-export finance. She has recently worked with major corporates, commercial banks, governmental agencies (including export credit agencies) and other financial institutions on a variety of domestic and international finance and corporate matters, convertible and other debt issuances, rights issuances and private placements. Anna joined the firm in 2005. She was educated in Moscow and New York and admitted to practice law in Russia and the State of New York.
