143 years ago today, on Nov. 29, 1870, Nikolai Przhevalsky began his traveling career with a visit to Eastern Siberia. Once there, he made significant amendments to existing maps of the region and undertook a survey of the Ussuri River. Later, he would go onto Tibet and acquire a vast knowledge of Central and Eastern Asia.
