Meat Import Quotas Set

The most drastic reduction of quotas on imported meat to Russia this year came for pork, according to a Cabinet decree.

The quota went down to 400,000 tons from 472,000 tons last year, said the decree published on Dec. 29.

The Cabinet also slightly reduced the quota for poultry imports to 330,000 tons from last year's 350,000 tons. The beef imports quota remained at 530,000 tons, but the U.S. share within the quota will rise by a third to 60,000 tons.
