Vehicle Production Up 44%

Russia's total production of motor vehicles rose 43.7 percent year on year to 1.81 million units in January-November 2011, Interfax reported Thursday, citing an ASM Holding press release.

Passenger car production in the country was up 46 percent in the 11 months to 1.58 million units, with output of domestic car models growing 16.7 percent to 614,900 units and output of foreign-brand cars jumping 73.7 percent to 964,500 units.

Truck production rose 38.2 percent to 189,600 units in January-November, and bus production edged up 0.7 percent to 40,100 units. Output of domestic-

model buses fell 2.3 percent to 33,600 units, while output of foreign-brand buses jumped 20.3 percent to 6,500 units.
