Several demonstrators were shot in riots outside a hospital where the three Basques -- Jesus Goitia, Mikel Ibanez and Jesus Lizarralde -- said to be in a critical condition after a 14-day hunger strike, were being treated.
The three were arrested two years ago in Uruguay in connection with killings allegedly carried out by the Basque separatist group ETA.
