The fourth annual Kids English Festival took place in the lively surroundings of the Muzeon statue park near the Central House of Artists and New Tretyakov Gallery over the weekend. More than a thousand aspiring and bright-eyed young English linguists flocked to the park on Saturday for the fair, allowing themselves to become immersed in the language — and bask in the sun while they climbed, danced, played and ran around.
The festival emphasizes in a fun and engaging way the importance of giving children a choice of educational programs and institutions. Interested parents and grandparents had a chance to get information about English-language education and trends in modern education at the International School of Tomorrow.
Music, dancing, games, classes and contests, and story-telling in English kept the kids entertained — both native Russian speakers and English speakers. There was also a charity fair and a chance to buy books from the English publisher Usborne from the English Book Shop. For the complete English kid's experience, there were games and toys from the oldest toy shop in the world, Hamleys. The large Hamleys bear was a big hit, as was Crazy Foam.
Part of the proceeds from the charity sale will be provided to the To Children With Love Foundation.
