Resuming at 244 for six, David Richardson, Brian McMillan and especially Craig Matthews played their strokes putting on 93 for the seventh and eight wicket as 106 runs were scored in the session. McMillan was out five minutes before lunch for 29, leaving Fanie de Villiers on seven not out and Alan Donald yet to score as they went into the break.
