A man was stabbed to death Tuesday inside the Borodinskaya Panorama museum on Moscow's Kutuzovsky Prospekt, Interfax reported, citing an unidentified police source.
Museum guards detained a suspect as he exited the building with blood on his hands, the report said.
The man used to work at the museum as an electrician, the police source said. He came to visit his former colleagues, but quarreled with one of them and stabbed the unidentified offender in the heart, killing him on the spot. An investigation was opened.
Meanwhile, police searched on Tuesday the office of a deputy director of another famous Moscow museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, Interfax said, without providing the man's name.
The official is suspected of embezzlement during his previous job at City Hall, Interfax reported Tuesday. The Interior Ministry stressed in a press statement that the search is not related to the suspect's work in the Tretyakov Gallery or the museum's operations.
