WILLIAMSPORT, Pennsylvania () -- Esteban Avila batted in two runs and scored once himself to lead Venezuela to a 4-3 victory over Northridge, California, in the Little League World Series baseball championship game.
Saturday's victory ended the United States' two-year run as Little League champion and gave Latin America its first Little League title since 1958. It was also Venezuela's first appearance in a championship game.
