Top-Earner Jordan

NEW YORK () -- Former National Basketball Association superstar Michael Jordan may be a minor leaguer these days but he is still a major earner.

Jordan, who retired from basketball to pursue a baseball career that currently pays him less than $10,000 a year, still ranks as the number one money maker in sports, according to Forbes Magazine, whose annual survey of top money makers in sport has "Air" Jordan raking in $30 million in endorsements to top the list for the third consecutive year.

Jordan's estimated $30.01 million income for 1994 is almost twice that of the number two money maker, NBA star center Shaquille O'Neal of the Orlando Magic, who made $16.7 million this year. A pair of legendary golfers -- Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer -- came in third and fourth on the strength of endorsement deals.
