Terrorist Attacks Grow 30%

The number of terrorist attacks in the North Caucasus grew by 30 percent this year, Vladimir Ustinov, the president’s envoy to the Southern Federal District, said Tuesday.

Ustinov said 786 terrorist attacks were carried out in his district in the first 11 months of 2009, compared to 576 in the whole of last year. The number of victims has also grown, he said, without providing figures.
