Sprinter Turns Rugger

SYDNEY, Australia ) -- Commonwealth Games 100 meters silver medalist Horace Dove-Edwin of Sierra Leone has been offered the chance to play professional rugby for leading Australian team the Canberra Raiders.


Dove-Edwin, who finished second behind Olympic champion Linford Christie in Wednesday's 100 meters final at Victoria, Canada, has reportedly agreed to try out with the team.


Canberra Raiders coach Tim Sheens said Friday that Dove-Edwin will join the team during the southern hemisphere summer.
