A representative of Russia's Foreign Ministry has slammed Euronews for its "fantastic political prejudice and bias" in reporting on the ongoing Ukraine crisis.
Maria Zakharova, a deputy press secretary, made her discontent with the major international news agency known on her Facebook page on Tuesday.
"You know how you can find out the real state of affairs in Ukraine? Watch Euronews: If there isn't a word on the channel about the situation in Ukraine (like today, for example), that means things are really bad for [President Petro] Poroshenko. The fantastic political prejudice and bias of Euronews, especially on the Ukraine crisis, is astounding," Zakharova wrote.
This is not the first time that a representative of the Foreign Ministry has complained of biased Western coverage of the Ukraine conflict.
In a statement issued in late July, Human Rights Ombudsman Konstantin Dolgov ? complained of a "blatant media blackout of Russian news agencies by the European Union over the situation in Ukraine."
He said the current coverage of events by Western media had deprived Europeans of their right to "objective, verified" information on the situation in the conflict-torn country.
