The ruble dropped 11 points against the dollar during trading Tuesday on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange, closing at 1,736 per dollar.
Net trading volume, which does not include compulsory dollar sales from export revenues, was $27.75 million, with initial supply of $38.8 million and initial demand for $47 million. Fifty two banks took part in the trading.
The ruble also fell against the Deutsche mark, closing at 1,029 per mark compared to 1,011 Monday.
