Ruble Down 9 Points

The ruble lost nine points against the dollar in trading Tuesday on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange, closing at 1,668 to the dollar. Trading volume was light at $55.9 million rubles, down from $70 million Monday, matching initial demand and exceeding initial supply of $49.45 million. Fifty-six banks took part in the trading. The ruble also fell against the Deutsche mark, closing at 977 rubles compared to 973 Monday.
