Player Stalked Coach

DETROIT, Michigan ) -- A former Michigan State football player says he stalked Spartans head coach George Perles for two days with the intention of killing him, the Detroit News reported.

Roosevelt Wagner, an offensive lineman who dropped out of school in 1992 and was not drafted by a National Football League team, told the newspaper in a Tuesday story that he blamed Perles for his failures and was seeking revenge when he trailed the coach home with two loaded guns in April 1992.

A school spokesman said the university had no knowledge of the incident.
