No Snow, No Show

SIERRA NEVADA, Spain () -- Ski officials Thursday canceled the 1995 World Alpine Skiing Championships because of a lack of snow and reset them for February of 1996 in this same Spanish ski resort.

Gian Franco Kasper of FIS, skiing's world governing body, said the event set to open Monday in this southern Spanish ski resort now would be held here in 1996. A spell of warm weather in recent days ended any hope that the resort's more than 100 snow machines could save the two-week event.
