Indian Star Released

NEW DELHI -- India's Supreme Court on Monday ordered Sanjay Dutt, a box-office idol who towered over the world's biggest film industry, to be released on bail after spending more than a year in jail in a Bombay bombing case.

The actor, 36, who earned fame in a string of anti-hero roles and is said to be now suffering from a lung disease, was first arrested in April 1993. He was released on interim bail within a month but rearrested last year under a strict anti-terrorism law that has since lapsed.
