SOWETO, South Africa () -- Alec Stewart blasted an unbeaten 101 to lead England to a second innings declaration of 282 for five before heavy rains washed out the last day of a four-day exhibition match against a South African Invitation XI on Monday.

By the end of play Sunday, the South Africans had managed 25 runs in 14 overs for the loss of one wicket in their second innings. With the home side scraping together only 210 in reply to England's first innings of 332, the visitors enjoyed an overall lead of 379 runs.
