Greecks Drop Charges

ATHENS () -- The Greek parliament voted Tuesday to drop wiretapping and bribe-taking charges against former prime minister Constantine Mitsotakis, in a move aimed at ending an era of political prosecutions which has divided the country.

Mitsotakis was charged with wiretapping his rivals from 1988 to 1991, including socialist Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou and the new leader of the conservative party, Miltiades Evert. His trial on the charges was due to start next week.
