Fleet Talk Headway

KIEV -- Ukraine and Russia have made headway on splitting the disputed Black Sea Fleet, agreeing to separate bases once the fleet is divided, negotiators said. Russia will keep the fleet's base at Sevastopol and Ukraine is likely to base its fleet at two Crimean ports, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry disarmament expert Volodymyr Belashov told journalists Thursday. "The Russian fleet will be based in Sevastopol and Ukraine's fleet will also be based in Crimea, probably in Balaklava and Donuzlav," Belashov said.
