Clippers Avoid Record Loss

LOS ANGELES -- Pooh Richardson's 19-footer at the buzzer in overtime gave the Los Angeles Clippers a 96-94 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, the Clippers' first win of the season after 16 losses.

With the win Wednesday, Los Angeles avoided tying the NBA record for the most losses to start a season.

At Orlando, Shaquille O'Neal sparked a 10-0 run midway through the fourth quarter and finished with 33 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Orlando Magic to a 90-75 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The victory was the second in as many nights over the Cavs, who stayed close for three quarters despite shooting only 39 percent.

In other Wednesday games, Jeff Malone scored 34 points to help the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Miami Heat 111-102, and the Boston Celtics overcame the Atlanta Hawks 93-80. Dee Brown had 24 points for the Celtics.
