MINSK, Belarus -- Police in a small town in Belarus have charged a young man with the kidnap and murder of four small boys, police said. Vladimir Osipenko, police chief in Svetlogorsk, 200 kilometers southeast of Minsk, said the suspect was detained last week. He was being held at a secret location to protect him from angry townspeople. Osipenko said the remains of one small boy had been found and investigators were searching for the other victims killed between 1990 and 1993. Itar-Tass said that six children had vanished in the town and added that the suspect, who lived in the area, did not resist arrest.
