Blast Kills Fund Head

MOSCOW () -- A bomb killed the head of a fund supporting Afghan war invalids when the device blew up at the entrance to his home in southern Moscow on Thursday afternoon, Interfax quoted police as saying.


Mikhail Likhodey, head of the Russian fund for wounded veterans of the Afghan war, died on the spot when an "unidentified device" exploded as he returned home, Interfax said.


The head of the city government's press center confirmed the report, it added.
