Severstal said Thursday that its North American unit raised prices for the United States in January by about 6 percent because of increased demand and the cost of raw materials including scrap metal.
Prices for immediate delivery were raised by $36 a short ton on average to $610 per ton of hot-rolled steel, it said. It is the third increase since the beginning of December, Severstal added.
