Cyrillic Domains Registered for First Time

Wednesday was the first day that state organs could register new Cyrillic domain names for their web sites.

Several domain names, including ?€??????????.?€?„ and ???€?µ?·?????µ???‚.?€?„ were registered, Reuters reported.

For now, only state institutions and trademark holders can register Cyrillic domains. The newly registered domains will start working in March.

We, the journalists of The Moscow Times, refuse to be silenced. Our commitment to providing accurate and unbiased reporting on Russia remains unshaken. But we need your help to continue our critical mission.
