Shoppers at GUM walk past a full-size model of Leonardo da Vinci's helicopter. About 80 models based on da Vinci's sketches have been set up throughout the shopping center for an exhibition called "Our Contemporary Leonardo: Mechanisms, Machines, Sketches." The models were brought in from Italy last month for the annual Chereshnevy Les arts festival, which often features presentations of Italian culture - so any connection to "The Da Vinci Code" was coincidental. The exhibition runs to August 31 at GUM, located at 3 Red Square. Photograph by Igor Tabakov.
