With a stroke of the pen, Vladimir Lenin nationalized the Russian film industry 85 years ago on Friday. The date began to be celebrated as the Day of Soviet Cinema, with special showings and festivals. Celebrations, now marking the Day of Russian Cinema, continue to this day, and include screenings of Soviet classics such as "Battleship Potemkin," which recently gained a young audience at the nightclub Kult.
