A new exhibition of works by Viktor Pivovarov, one of the key figures of the so-called Moscow Conceptualist school, opens Friday at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art on Yermolayevsky Pereulok. During his days as an underground artist in the 1960s and '70s, Pivovarov supported himself by illustrating children's books, an experience that seems to be reflected in the often playful tone of his works. His new exhibition is called "The Lemon Eaters," which is also the title of the picture below. It runs to Jan. 15 in the museum at 17 Yermolayevsky Pereulok. Metro Mayakovskaya.
