Moscow Temperatures to Drop Sharply in October

Muscovites can expect a cold snap and possibly even sleet by the end of the week as a cyclone blows through the region, gusting with it winds from the Arctic, forecasters have said.

State-run news agency RIA Novosti cited Russia's meteorological center as saying the cyclone would cause temperatures to drop sharply this week — to between 2-4 degrees Celsius overnight on Tuesday, with the possibility of sleet, and hovering about 5-7 C throughout Wednesday.

While temperatures are expected to climb to between 7-9 C on Thursday and 5-10 C on Friday, gusty winds and grey skies will be present for most of the week, forecasters added.
