Moscow's police have detained 500 migrant workers from former Soviet republics as part of an investigation into a series of robbery attacks against women in the city, a news report said.
Police raided a construction site in western Moscow on Wednesday afternoon, detaining hundreds of workers, Interior Ministry spokesman Andrei Galiakberov said, state-run RIA Novosti news agency reported Wednesday.
Police have yet to determine whether any of the workers have any connection to the robberies, but investigators intend to look into the migrant workers' legal status, the report said.
