Cleese, who made his name in the 1970s Monty Python comedy series, plays opposite De Niro in Kenneth Branagh's Frankenstein, premiering in London next month.
Cleese told The Times newspaper: "I have a small part as a professor who dabbles in the occult. And I get bumped off by the De Niro character. I am the second Python he has killed on screen. Michael Palin went first in 'Brazil.'"
