An Mi-2 helicopter carrying eight people has crashed in Russia's Far East, killing at least two people, a news report said Tuesday.
The helicopter crashed about 49 kilometers away from the city of Yelizovo in Kamchatka, close to the Snezhnaya Dolina (Snow Valley) sports base, a source in the regional emergency services told RIA Novosti news agency.
Two crew members were found dead at the crash site, a spokesperson for the regional Emergency Situations Ministry told RIA Novosti.
A total of eight people are believed to have been on board the aircraft, according to the report.
The helicopter, an Mi-2, was transporting a group of skiers and belongs to the Voluntary Society of Assistance to the Army, Air Force and Navy, the report said.
