116 years ago today, on Feb. 6, 1898, Alla Tarasova, one of the Soviet Union's leading actresses, was born in Kiev. Her success in the Moscow Art Theater was accompanied by starring roles in several movies, such as "Anna Karenina" in 1937. In 1952, she was also elected to the Supreme Soviet of the U.S.S.R
