Forty-eight years ago today, on Nov. 21, 1965, the world's first professional theater for children was founded in Moscow under the leadership of Natalia Sats. Sats played a crucial role in advancing children's theater throughout Russia and commissioned several masterpieces that achieved international fame, such as Sergei Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf."
