Russian Railways will introduce a new Sapsan express train from Moscow to Yaroslavl later this year. It will be known as Lastochka (Swallow). The company already runs high-speed trains between Moscow and St. Petersburg and from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod. Russian Railways previously announced plans for a fast train to Kazan and is currently upgrading rail track.
