4 Die in Kazakh Copter Crash

Kazakhstan's defense ministry said four people died in a helicopter crash outside the country's capital.

The ministry said in a statement that the Mi-7 helicopter crashed early on Wednesday just outside Astana's military airport while on a training mission, killing the crew.

The defense ministry said it is trying to determine what caused the crash.

Kazakhstan still uses a sizeable fleet of outdated and often poorly maintained Soviet-built aircraft.
