Belarus Wants Flight Parity

Belarussian aviation authorities are insisting in an ongoing dispute that Russian and Belarussian air companies have an equal number of flights between Minsk and Moscow, RIA-Novosti reported Thursday.

The dispute started when the two countries agreed to have four flights in each direction between them, but Russia, reportedly, tried to obtain more of the agreed flights for Russian companies. This led to a brief halt in flights on the route Monday morning.

The Belarussian transportation ministry said before a meeting Thursday that they were willing to continue relations according to a 1997 agreement between the countries' air authorities.
