New Bridge for Kaliningrad

Russia and Lithuania have agreed to jointly fund construction of a new bridge connecting Kaliningrad with Lithuania, Kaliningrad Governor Nikolai Tsukanov said Sunday.

The agreement on the bridge across the Neman River will be signed in June, Tsukanov said in an interview with the Baltic News Service.

Tsukanov said the bulk of funding would come from Russia, but that the European Union was expected to contribute "about 10 million euros" ($15 million) to the project.
